Capital City Drywall Inc. is involved in several different non-profit organizations that give back to the community. This involves building homes for under privileged families, building homes in low-income areas, and building facilities for women and children who have been abused. Here are some of the few non-profits we have had the privilege to work with.
"Sacramento Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Sacramento Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have asimple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all."
"Child Advocates of Placer County received its non-profit status in 2004 with the mission to establish the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program for the Placer County Juvenile Dependency Court.
All programs – CASA and Placer Mentors – utilize volunteers to serve our community. CASA and Placer Mentor volunteers help foster youth, at-risk youth and young adults build resiliency, self-confidence and self-sufficiency. We help them attain academic achievement and avoid the juvenile justice system, teen pregnancy, and drug and/or alcohol use. Family Mentors help at-risk parents create functioning households, so that they can reunify – permanently – with their children.
The ultimate result we want to see from our programs is an increase in community wellness. We want to see our youth make better life choices, succeed in school, and become happy, stable and contributing adults. We want our parents to reunify with their children and rebuild their families. And we want our volunteers to come away with a sense of accomplishment, an increased connection to their community, and a feeling of joy – the joy that comes from “giving back” in a meaningful way.
The results are life-changing for everyone."
"HomeAid is a leading national non-profit provider of housing for today's homeless. The organization builds and renovates multi-unit shelters for America's homeless families and individuals, more than one million of whom are children, while they rebuild their lives.
HomeAid has provided housing for more than 190,000 individuals who have been rendered temporarily homeless due to circumstances beyond their control, including:
Through the generosity of America's builders, their trade partners, financial institutions, and the public, HomeAid has built more than 360 project shelters with an additional 30 in development. These shelters provide more than 7,500 beds per night nationwide. Each bed serves an average of three people per year."
"The J.B. Brown Fund is a philanthropic partnership between USA United and LifeSTEPS. The purpose is to provide USA Properties Fund’s residents with opportunities to maximize their potential and strengthen our communities. The J.B. Brown Fund provides opportunity in the following categories: Scholarships, Client assistance, Sports and Support for older adults."
"Saint John’s is for the woman who wants to make the leap. Who will fight the pervasive influence of homelessness, poverty, and abuse. Who will make an empowered decision to rise up and become a productive community member. Who understands, unequivocally, that the decision to create a better life – for herself and for her family – rests entirely on her.
We provide more than shelter and food. We provide the ability to rise above devastating, negative elements and achieve job-readiness and self-sustainability. Entry into the program is limited, and each step is extremely rigorous. But those who see it through end up with rewarding, happy, and productive lives – for themselves, and for their children."
